Victorian Vine House

For the past 12 years, since we took charge of the walled garden, we have wanted to replace the derelict and rotting Victorian vine House.

We have been able to do this. The old Victorian vines that had managed to survive years of being open to the elements, as seen in these images. They are now warm and cosy as well as thriving in their new home, the evidence is the bunches of delicious grapes that we are currently harvesting. This wonderful building offers a lot of space for teaching.

During the restoration of this interesting building we were lucky enough to unearth two huge brick built water storage tanks. They are our next restoration project, so they can be utilised to provide water for the garden.

Future Events

Produce Sales

Now that the 2026 harvesting is underway our weekly produce sales are once again being held.

Produce sales take place at the walled garden each Wednesdays from 11am to 3pm.

A range of freshly harvested seasonal fruit and vegetables is usually available along with freshly cut flowers.
